Meeting of the Holy Synod at Holy Name Abbey, NJ Due to international travel restrictions and obstacles having been lifted earlier this year, it was decided that the Holy Synod could convene this autumn, which it was not able to do since the spring of 2020. Though not all Bishops could be present physically or virtually, the three physically present were: His Beatitude Metropolitan John, First Hierarch, His Grace Vicar Bishop Lazr of Niagara, and His Grace Vicar Bishop Enoch of Apshawa, And virtually present was His Grace Vicar Bishop James of Whithorn, Dumfries and the Marches, who acted in the role of Secretary to record the Minutes. After Opening Prayers, and lengthy discussions of concerns, the following resolutions were unanimously voted upon. 1. In lieu of his successful work throughout the British Isles, His Grace Vicar Bishop James is elevated to be Ruling Bishop of the same. 2. In lieu of His Beatitude Metropolitan John needing assitance in the northern region, His Grace Vicar Bishop Lazr is elevated to be Exarch in the Dominion of Canada. 3. His Grace Bishop James is to lead the effort in created a new website for the Metropolia with updated links and also with an internatianal Clergy Directory. 4. A Committee is to be formed to review and publish documents, statements and/or declarations reaffirming the Holy Synod's teachings on current moral and social issues. Thursday 20 September 2019 Episcopal Elevations: On 16 September 2019, His Beatitude, Metropolitan John of New York, First Hierarch of the holy Synod, together with His Eminence, Archbishop Gavrilo of Moravia, consecrated His Excellency, the Right Reverend Bishop Lazr, as Vicar Bishop of Niagara in the Dominion of Canada. On 17 September 2019, these three Bishops consecrated His Excellency, the Right Reverend Bishop James, as Vicar Bishop of Whithorn, Dumfries and the Marches. The day before, Bishop James was also elevated to serve as Abbot of the Botel Abbey of Saints Aethelwold & Alban in Scotland. On 18 September 2019, these Bishops consecrated His Excellency, the Right Reverend Bishop Enoch, as Vicar Bishop of Apshawa in New Jersey. Axios! Axios! Axios!
